DIY: Inspirational Quote T-Shirt

Not many things in life can be as strong as words. Words can be our source of inspiration or give us a little pick me up when feeling close to the floor. I love inspirational quotes and I tend to put them all over. It may be a collage frame on the wall or a pendant with my favorite quote or just a card.
I've wanted to make a T-shirt with such a quote for a long time and I expected it to be much harder than what it came out to be. It was actually very, very easy!
I chose the following quote from apparently "anonymous". I looked everywhere but could not find its origin so pardon me that: " I'd rather live a life of  'oh wells' than a life of  'what ifs' "

It is a very easy project and you can use any quote or text that you like.

You will need:

  - a T-shirt
- freezer paper
- cloth iron
- X-acto knife
- pencil or marker
- cutting mat or a piece of cardboard that you can cut your stencil on
- fabric paint
- sponge brush
- scissors
- a piece of cardboard or a big plastic bag to put in the t-shirt so that
the paint does not transfer to the backside

DIY: Neon Striped Nails and a Giveaway

*Scroll down to enter the giveaway*
Summer calls for bright colors on everything and our nails are of course no exception.
Neon colors are everywhere and vivid color blocking is just so alluring!
I especially adore the combination of orange and fuchsia which is why I am head over heels with my custom wallet from my friend over at Milloo.
He may try to convince you that this combo was his idea but nope...mine all the way!
Nevertheless he makes amazing bags so do stop by and check his shop :)

Having said all that, you can understand how happy I was to find this fabulous nail tutorial
over at Make Up And Beauty Blog that really makes your nails look like a
delicious fruit sorbet.
Love love love!

You will only need nail polish in your favorite bright colors and some optional tape if your hand is as shaky as mine :)

New Look Summer Outfit

I was very excited when I recently was asked to put together a New Look outfit from my favorites in their summer collection :)
I love beautiful, affordable clothes and New Look always delivers.
I decided to go for a bit of color blocking for a relaxed, breezy summer look :)

Maria Björnbom-Öberg

I am so excited to be able to share something like this.
So, here you have this wondrously talented swedish lady that goes by Maria Björnbom-Öberg , works as a tattoo artist and literally brings paper to life with her amazing drawing style.

I spent most of my evening on her blog tonight and was amazed with her work.
At first I thought it was mostly digital but then I clicked further to her YouTube page where she has time-lapse videos of her drawing process.

Autumn Colors: Inspiration Fuel

Isn't it great to look outside the window these days?
I love this parade of warm Autumn colors.
Every shade of red, yellow and brown generously offers inspiration on every corner and it is really no surprise that all these shades and tones make their way to all handmade creations this time of year.
Seasons play a huge part to what and how we create things no doubt and more often than not they trigger memories that inspire us even more.

Autumn Inspiration

Autumn for me is the color changing leaves on the trees. On a sunny autumn day there is absolutely nothing better than marveling the wonder of yellow and red tones on the previously green trees.
It makes me feel all warm inside and longing even more for my beloved white icy Scandinavian winter.
I think that Autumn is quite mistreated.
When it comes, all we think about is the Summer that is leaving,  the cold Winter ahead and the holidays that are on their way.
So this year I though I would make something new to always remind me of Fall.

Inspired by cozying up with a good book, my favorite cardigan and a cup of tea on a cool Autumn afternoon, I made some necklaces.
